And bring a renewed sense of PEACE and JOY so that we can follow our PURPOSE with passion, zest, and a sizzling sense of fervor like never before.  A daily commitment to our Hero's/Heroine's Journey is the most effective way to stay in a state of soulful fulfillment.  There is NO drug, alcohol, or materialistic item that will fill a void and longing in your heart like the BLISS that imbues our entire inner being when we spend our days following our true calling.  TRUST ME!   If you absolutely desire to experience the feeling of a miracle, realign your thoughts, beliefs , and your actions toward your particular path or calling and thank me later!  :0)

To assist you in this Re-membrance over the long weekend, I wanted to share the following 23 lessons from BUDDHA.  It is my desire that they will support you and give you comfort, inspiration, and support on your Journey!

1) Love heals all things

BE AWARE of This LIFE TRAP!!!!! DO This INSTEAD!

THE TRUMAN SHOW

A few months ago, I was helping some friends of a friend move to a new town.  They are both quite attractive, fit, have wonderful, high paying careers, and two dogs they absolutely adore.  During the day's move, I walked in their house to pick up yet anther box of various collected life possesssions and overheard the husband declare to his wife with such contentment, “Aren't you glad we have an Easy Button life!”  Most likely taken from the now infamous Staples commercial containing an ‘Easy Button’ as its core theme of shopping there.   

And while I walked out of the house to pack the box in my arms toward the back of the moving truck, I began to process the conversation I had just overheard.  On one hand, having an ‘Easy Button’ life appears to be a goal worthy of striving for.  I mean, let's keep it real!!  The appeal of seemingly ‘having it all’ sounds pretty frickin' fantastic, doesn't it!  The money, houses, cars, vacations, fancy dining, and all the big boy toys and sartorial desires many women yearn for seems to be a dream come true.  Right?!?!  

And while there is absolutely NO THING wrong with desiring to experience all the ABUNDANCE life has to offer, I believe making it the central focus of our life's purpose can be quite damaging to anyone's Hero's/Heroine's Journey.  Because here is the TRUTH!  Everything in this illusionary world enters into our experience only TEMPORARILY.  We do not truly own anything or anyone.  We are simply stewards of these earthly illusions for a set period of time, before they are eventually taken away, many so that others can then share in that stewardship as well.  We fight so hard on this side of the putting green to obtain a certain amount of life CURRENCY!  Trying to find a level of comfort in having enough.   Yet, as we all have experienced, ENOUGH never comes.  

Yet the very thing that we do take with us when we make the transition back to SOURCE energy after our passing is the ONE thing that too many of us spend the least amount of our time and energy on during our time here on Earth.  Please Re-member, CONSCIOUSNESS IS THE ONLY CURRENCY ON THE OTHER SIDE.  It is our unlimited source for the eternal ATM card of the cosmos.  Yet, if you were to be compassionately honest with yourself, what percentage of your daily time and energy is used on transforming and growing in your own level of CONSCIOUSNESS?!!?
10%. 20%.  Some maybe more, many others even less.  And for those of you who can honestly say you spend a great majority of your time on self growth and Re-membrance, I say “HOORAY!!!”

For those of you who regularly follow my blog, you know all too well that I have gotten my PHD in pain in suffering many times over.  And while I am NOT saying it was easy, for much of it felt like pure unadulterated HELL, I would NOT change one experience or ONE moment of my life so far.  

I have found out that our pain is our salvation.  It is where we shed the things that do not serve us so that our pain transforms into our POWER.  And that power then can be used in service of our PURPOSE.  As Victor Frankel said, “Life begins to transform once we begin to understand the meaning of our suffering.”

Receiving too many ‘Easy Buttons’ in life before you have gone through the pain and reckoning that comes through true suffering, is like a baby chick being forced out of its egg shell before it has been fully shaped and formed.  That is why I now say that SUFFERING is:

Summoning our
Ultimate 
Fears &
Frailty
Encouraging
Rebirth

So many of us are conditioned to escape our pain through a variety of coping mechanisms that become in effect our own ‘Easy Buttons’ for life.  But those buttons come in the form of drugs, alcohol, food, abusive relationships, or any various forms of self destructive behavior.  

And would you like me to share with you the Magical part of embracing our pain and suffering and not hiding from it?!?    All of the things you were fighting so hard to obtain, come flooding into your experience when you are courageous enough to face your pain and fears head on, and ACCEPT that they came into your life for a reason.  Once you fully accept that TRUTH, you will be able to accept the gifts they brought with a level of GRATITUDE that you only thought possible in fairy tales!! And you will also learn the greatest Re-membrance of all!!  That you are No Thing less than a child of God, perfect in every way, shape and form.   And when that knowingness comes, it is the one and only thing that can NEVER be taken away from you!!

And even as magnificent as that, you will then have the wisdom and ability to assist others who are still stuck in their pain, and pull them back into the light after they have learned what their pain came to  teach them.  And that my New Age Nerds is the true CIRCLE OF LIFE!!

Do You KNOW What The ONLY True DISABILITY IS?!?!!?

TODAY'S INSPIRATIONAL “MYTHOLOGICAL MAGIC”

Back in 1988, I was still in High School and living in the greater Northern Virginia area.  Or the DMV as it is now known as.  The previous ten years our hometown NFL team, the Washington Redskins were a DYNASTY.   Perennial playoff contenders who had advanced to the Super Bowl for the third time in 7 years.  And I was obsessed with the team.  Their practice facility was just a few miles from my house and I often made the trek to the back fence of the complex just to get a glance of some of my gridiron HEROES!  

In fact, I was such a fan fanatic, I actually SKIPPED my mid-term exams to attend Super Bowl 22, in which my beloved Redskins trampled the helpless Denver Broncos 42-10!!  I was literally in ‘HOG’ Heaven!!  (You Skins fans will get that reference!)  I had made a deal with the High School principal that if he let me skip my exams, I would come back after the game and take all six of them in his office, one after another.  And ya know what, that's EXACTLY what I did!   And received 5 A's and one B+ ; thank you very much!  :0)  lol

So when I first watched the story of Matthew Jeffers, a fervent Baltimore Ravens fan who just a few years ago wrote an impassioned letter to the head coach of the team simply titled, ‘A Reason To Win,’ it left an indelible imprint on the deepest part of my heart.  That season, the Ravens had lost 3 games in a row and were about to be eliminated from the playoffs.  The entire team and their coaching staff were under intense scrutiny and many members of the team felt the energy within the entire organization start to crumble.  Just a few years earlier they had won the Super Bowl, and now they were a team under fire!

John Harbaugh, the team's head coach returned to his office from a long day of practice  one day and checked his e-mails.  His assistant had forwarded Jeffer's letter to him.  Harbaugh said, “This one(letter) stopped me.  Really it made me pause.  It came from a fan, and it got me.  I immediately decided to share it with the team and emailed it to them.”

Here is the email that he sent...........................................

"To Whom It May Concern,
 
"My name is Matthew Jeffers. I am a senior at Towson University majoring in acting, and I have been a die-hard Ravens fan since Baltimore welcomed you with open arms in 1996. As you, the Ravens, continue to battle through tough losses and heated criticism, allow me to share some thoughts with you. You are in uncharted territory. You (and us) have had the gift and pleasure of consistently winning for years, and frankly, you have spoiled us. You have maintained a level of professionalism and inspiring play for so long that we have lost touch with what it feels like to have our feet in the mud. And I'm sure it is an even worse feeling for you, the ones on the field, than it is for the ones in the stands.

"And let me let you in on a little secret. Life doesn't care about streaks. It does not care about three-game losing streaks, or four-game win streaks. It does not care if you WANT to win, if you NEED to win. At the end of the day, life is simply unfair. I am short-statured. I am 21 years old, but stand only at 4'2”. Over my lifetime I have endured 20 surgeries, some small, others life-threatening. I have had a tracheotomy, I have had blood transfusions, I have spent summers in a hip spica cast, and I've had to learn how to walk again. My last surgery was in 2003, and I acquired the naive mindset that I was free from the bondage of heartache. I had the mindset that I had ‘done my time.’ And then, in February of 2011, my mother was diagnosed with a stage IV brain tumor. As I write this, the doctors at JHU are determining whether or not the next step should be Hospice care. So you tell me, is life fair? When you give every ounce you have, and all you have to show for it is a loss in overtime, is that fair? When families in Newtown, CT go into their child's room, but have no child to kiss goodnight, is that fair?

"We live in a painful world, no doubt about it. But let me tell you this: The ONLY disability in life is a bad attitude. The ONLY disability in life............is a bad attitude. A positive attitude is the most powerful combatant to life's misfortune. The will to fight, to survive, to win. It is the secret weapon I use, and I think I'm turning out OK. When you play on Sunday, let it not be to win a division or to silence the critics or prove somebody wrong or end a losing skid. Let it be a dedication to that simple yet powerful notion that life can be conquered with the right outlook. And I promise you, I promise you that everything else will take care of itself. Go get 'em on Sunday. I wish you all the best on your journey to The Lombardi."

The next day, the team felt completely INSPIRED and recharged.  Many of the players credit that letter with turning their entire season around!    In fact, the Ravens won their final game of the season to finish at 10-6 and found a place in that season's playoff run.  And what could only be written in a Hollywood script, actually went on to WIN THE SUPER BOWL!!  Beating the San Francisco 49ers 34-31!

We all face challenges of various degrees.  Some MUCH worse than others.  And I would NEVER want to trivialize any of the myriad of disabilities millions face with such bravery and courage very single day.  My intention for sharing this INCREDIBLE story is because I know from personal experience, that ANY obstacle, or disability can be overcome.  And I DO MEAN ANY!!  Through  the support of others and the deep BELIEF in ourselves, we can turn our PAIN INTO POWER!

It is the Hero's/Heroine's Journey lived to its fullest!  Having the KNOWINGNESS that everything that happens can be seen for our greater good and for the understanding of our path and PURPOSE!

WHY We MUST Climb Life's MOUNTAINS!!!

Day by day is the way they say to live....
One step at a time 
Until the mind's music...
Find's its rhythm and rhyme.....

Pull yourself up from your bootstraps.....
But what if your straps are no longer there...
Worn down from the disillusioned moments...
That often causes one not to care....

Every mirror shows me a reflection....
I often wish not to see...
For it causes me to face my TRUTH....
And my Soul's inner reality....

If I'm meant to be a guide...
A Steward of Remembrance toward others' paths
Then why does it now often seem...
That perhaps in another role I should have been cast....

A mountain stands before me....
One I am reticent to climb....
For I know the pain its crevices will find....
Deep within my Soul's fragile shine.....

But there are ethereal signs...
That this Journey will lead toward salvation..
That give me Hope and Strength....
To stay the treacherous course despite outward temptation....

So I daily forge ahead....progress top of mind....
Although setbacks do befall me.....
I simply pass them by.....
For my heart's goal is to be set free...

At times I am completely amazed...
As I find a trove of treasures along the way....
Gifts sent from Heaven...
That ease my core confusion and curb the constant sway...

The path toward peace and joy...
Still lies far above....which is completely fine
For A winged angel appears to remind me...
The gift toward eternal Glory is NOT a straight line....

It takes more than courage to forge through our Truth...
Thus Faith was created by His Heavenly touch.....
To be used as a staff of pure conviction..
When the burden seems to be just too much...

Silent whispers can be heard all around....
So many spirit guides wishing to aide...
For a PURPOSE I have yet to fulfill...
The very reason that I was made......

To give up now would be a blow to a Universal plan....
Which is to create and fill this world with Light....
So the darkness about to overcome us...
Could not do so without a Heavenly fight....

I write a promise in the rocks as I continue to climb...
That no matter the circumstances that may cause me to frown....
Continuing to fight through the forces of my internal darkness...
Is my Hero's Journey, and my Tribe I will never let down....

Could Your SELF ESTEEM Use Some ASSISTANCE?! Then PLEASE Read This!!!

TODAY'S INSPIRATIONAL “MYTHOLOGICAL MAGIC”

On an early Spring morning in California circa 1971, a young toddler who absolutely adored his father, waited patiently in his crib for days for his beloved dad to come home.  And one morning, he did just that.  But he bypassed his only son screaming out for him in his crib.  He had OTHER priorities that fateful day.  His family had even put out a missing person's report on him, given he went to work earlier that week and simply never returned.  His young son watched through his crib's wood rails as he went straight into the room where his mother was sleeping.  And he watched as he told her he no longer wanted to be married or tied down with children.  He abruptly packed some clothes in an old, scuffed up suitcase and left.  As he walked past his young son in the crib, he gave him not even a glance.  Just jettisoned out the door and got in his car and left!  

This traumatic event had such a powerful impact on this young boy, that he carried it deep within his SOUL for decades, as he tried to understand why he wasn't worth loving.  How do I know what he carried around in his fragile heart for so long?!?!  Because that young boy ....was me.

My mom told me that after my father left that day, any chance I got, I ran to the big bay window next to the door where I last saw him.  And I wouldn't leave.  For days upon end, she told me I just plastered my face on the window, expecting and hoping that ONE DAY, he would return.  But he never did.

Needless to say, I had major abandonment issues.  For decades I lived with the inner monologue “If they NEED me, they won't leave me.”  And I got damn good at it too!  I mean PHD level stuff in attracting and searching for friends and women who were akin to emotional vampires.  I gave them everything I had, and usually got very little in return.  So eventually I deemed these relationships as 90/10's.  I gave 90 percent, and got 10 percent in return!  Believe it or not, through my own self transformational work, I have absolutely NO JUDGEMENT towards any of them.  They were playing out their current level of cosmic consciousness, and I was too.  I was searching out SOULS that could help me heal the wounds from my past, and sought out energetic matches to try and fill that hole I felt so deeply within.  

Somewhere in my hard wiring from so many traumatic  childhood events(and there are many others I will share later) I felt an OBSESSION to prove to others in my life that I was worthy of their LOVE, care, respect, and kindness.  And as all of us New Age Nerds are now firmly aware, we do not attract what we desire, we attract what we are!  And for those so many years, I was sending out a deep level of energy that I was NOT WORTHY of well.....much of anything!  And so the Universe was more than happy to serve up a continuous platter of people and experiences to confirm that deep held belief!

And as I am writing this post, I have a distinct feeling that I am FAR from the only person reading this who has felt or even currently feels the EXACT same way that I once did.  In fact, I have many clients who I am helping to remove these same false beliefs that have wrecked havoc in their lives and caused them an immense amount of pain and suffering.  And there is NO THING wrong about feeling this way due to past trauma and the energetic imprinting that it left left like a tattoo on your heart.  What IS IMPORTANT, is that you DO NOT run away from facing these behaviors and patterns.  Allow yourself to get dirty and messy within your own process.  Sure it hurts!  Sometimes unbearably so!!  But what we resist persists, and what we allow ourselves to look at, in time, melts away!!  I promise you that!  

And during this process, please always Re-member that you are NOT BROKEN.  No matter what you have been through or what you may have done because of it.  The self realization process is simply the process of knocking off and stripping away the dirt and grime that has covered up the truth that lies beneath it.  And that truth is that underneath all that GUNK, is a child of GOD, perfect in every way.  Born to create miracles here on Earth.  For as Marianne Williamson so brilliantly says, “A miracle is simply a shift in perspective from FEAR to LOVE.”

This process, which I like to call the Hero's/Heroine's Journey is what we are ALL here for.  Discovering and accepting our pain and suffering, and transforming that wisdom and understanding into our POWER.    Like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, she had the power within in her the whole time!  And the absolute fact of the matter is...... SO DO YOU!!
