TODAY'S INSPIRATIONAL “MYTHOLOGICAL MAGIC”

BOY:   “I want to be a Superhero!”

GIRL:  “ What's your name, Spiderman, Ironman?”

Boy:  “YOUR MAN.”

We are currently living in very precarious times.  People are living in a constant state of FEAR, unsure of what their future may hold.  Our TV screens are filled daily with images of violence, separation, vitriol, and anger. Not to mention the wrath of Climate Disruption threatening to end all life on this planet within the next three decades!  Yet, I am more HOPEFUL than ever before! Why, you ask?  Because I am experiencing an enormous amount of individuals who are using this time to try and learn, grow, and change.  I get SO many personal messages from readers of The New Age Nerd who share their stories with me.  And I feel incredibly honored and privileged that they entrust me with their deep heartfelt longing and pain. Not too mention their sincere DESIRE to experience a more spiritually awakened life. One that encompasses the reason why we are ALL here.  And that is simply to give and receive LOVE.

For many of us, the first sign of a Spiritual Awakening is having what I call a ‘BREAK OPEN.’  This occurs when we are at our own razor's edge. And life seems to be slowly breaking us down in every way imaginable. Many people call it hitting ‘rock bottom.’  And it's more than just emotionally painful.  It causes us to question the very fabric of our foundational BELIEFS.  And for those of you currently reading this who are in that state, I want to say CONGRATULATIONS!  Because this is a sign that you are about to have a Spiritual Awakening.  You are being broken down so that you can ‘Break Open.’   And in doing so, unleash the gifts and Super Powers you were blessed with for the purpose of sharing them with the world!  I am NOT implying that this stage is easy.  FOR IT IS NOT!  I know from recent personal experience how scary, painful, and absolutely terrifying it can be. This stage often includes the letting go of things that no longer serve us;  friends, jobs, even family members.  As Marianne Williamson calls it ‘The Day of The Wrecking Ball.’  Because our very foundation must be pulled up and out to allow the space for the new one to be built in its place.  And that my friends, is NO FUN!  Yet it is also a crucial part of the process.  Just like any building, it is only as strong as its foundation, right?  Many of the elements of our past foundation were manifested into our experience when we were not yet ready to Break Open.  And now that we are, some things are going to have to change.  

One of my personal SUPERHEROES, the late Wayne Dyer, explained the stage like this, “The experience of a crisis immobilizes us for a long period of time. Our mind is focused on the disaster aspects of the situation, and we are unable to function effectively. We are unable to sleep or eat, and do not know how we are going to get past the terrible set of circumstances. We use our minds to focus on what is wrong, how painful it is, and how terrible it is going to be in the future. Advice from friends and relatives seems unrelated to our problem and usually results in anger and frustration. We cannot see any way out of our misery.

This is a typical response for all of us who are traveling our life paths in the belief that the external signposts are all there is to our reality. We cannot imagine that there is a valuable lesson in the trauma. We reject any suggestions that someday we will recall this experience as a necessary step in our development. We simply want to wallow in our hurt, believing that someone or something outside of us is creating this pain, and wishing that those externals would change.”

This stage often includes a period of depression and extreme anxiety, or both.  Please know that there is NO THING wrong with you.  You are NOT broken.  What you are doing is getting prepared to birth miracles.  And the birthing process (as you ladies know) is an arduous one.  Not for the faint of heart.  Part of the depression stems from the longing of the things we are letting go of.  Some of it is because we are just beginning the experience of having a deep KNOWINGNESS that we are not currently following our Superhero's Journey, the very purpose that we came here to BE.

Stage TWO of a Spiritual Awakening is where we begin the slow process of having complete GRATITUDE for our sufferings.  Because we start feeling that our pain and suffering is not in vein.  We begin to have KNOWINGNESS that there is an important reason behind it.  Things start making sense.  Wayne Dyer explains it like this, “This is an important step in the enlightenment process, and helps us to see how synchronized the onesong really is. Certainly we still experience the pain and suffering, but we simultaneously know that there is something magnificent in this as well. We are able to be gentle and accepting with ourselves, and to honor and love even the part that is creating the crisis. We probably will not cognitively understand why this pain is occurring right now, but we will have an underlying knowingness and belief in the value of it.”

Stage THREE of this awakening is ALL ABOUT SYNCHRONICITY.  There comes a moment in which the pain of NOT committing to our awakening and CALLING becomes more painful that the thought of taking that leap of faith.  So through pure force of will, we TAKE THE JUMP.  Having Faith that Spirit will provide and protect us on the Journey.  And guess what, Spirit does. Always and in all ways.  It is a Universal Law  (A promise from source if you will) that once you TRULY commit to this Divine Awakening, Spirit will flood your experience with everything you need to fulfill your destiny.  It may not happen all at once.  So PLEASE, be patient during this stage. Miracles take time in this dimension. But by staying in this new state of ALLOWANCE, you will begin to experience SYNCHRONICITY almost daily. People start showing up out of the blue to offer guidance.  Financial opportunities present themselves to help support your vision.  You begin to attract a new TRIBE of like minded friends and a support team.   And let me tell you, this is when you first start experiencing the sensation of "Heaven on Earth!!"  And it is blissful, and magical.  You cannot imagine living any other way, ever again!  

For those of you who may be skeptical of this process, I can understand.  Especially if you are currently in the middle of Stage ONE.  I know, because I was there several years ago.  I was so depressed I could barely get out of bed.  My mind caught in a constant replay of my past.  Unable to let go of the constriction these perceived failings were having over my entire psyche.  I had no money, no job, and had dropped almost 25 pounds because I simply had no desire to eat. In fact, I had little desire to do anything,  From the bed, I would make it to the living room sofa and sarcastically say to myself, “Watch out world, there is NO stopping me now!”  LOL

But as I made a commitment toward my path, the fog slowly lifted, and my life took off like a rocket of Re-membrance!  Now, five years later, I have a burgeoning business as a life and leadership coach with The New Age Nerd!!  I have put 25 pounds of muscle back on and am in the best shape of my life.  And it feels GLORIOUS!!  Where I could once barely get out of bed, I now leap out from my slumber every morning, super stoked to experience the wonders of the coming day! Can I get an AMEN in this congregation?!?! :0) 

Even if it doesn't feel like it right now, LIFE IS A BLESSING!  And please do not beat yourself up for whatever state you currently find yourself in.  You are EXACTLY where you need to be on your Journey.  No Thing you have experienced will be wasted. Each and every one of them has been to give you the wisdom, understanding and re-membrance of knowledge you will need moving forward!  Preparing you for what you have chosen to experience in this earthly realm! And once you reach the place where you are in complete alignment of allowance, and living your CALLING,  LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!

How To DEVELOP Super SUCCESSFUL Routines and HABITS...!

As you might imagine, being a transformational life and leadership coach brings with it a great responsibility to research and investigate the latest findings and implementations of self realization work that is seemingly everywhere nowadays.  I try and put things into practice first before spreading them to my clients or unleashing the information on The New Age Nerd.  Another criteria I use before sharing information in this area of my calling is to see how it resonates deep within my Being.  Basic stuff really.  Does it make sense and is it practical to most people who make up my audience and client base.  

One thing I do believe with all my heart is that two of the most common traits of the highly successful and iconoclastic individuals amongst us is laser like focus, and keeping small daily habits that others simply do not do for a myriad of reasons.  

I read several books a month and am always taking diligent notes on criteria and hard fought wisdom from today's masters in the self transformational world. All to see what they have discovered and are currently implementing in their own life and the lives of their clients.  Having said that, I would like to introduce you to the Top Ten action steps that will create a Super Successful life!  It is my hope that you will incorporate as many of them as you can into your own daily regime to assist you in achieving desired goals and in turn the happiness you desire in life!

So are you ready for the list?  Great, cause here we go!

1.  HONOR YOUR BODY TEMPLE
Yes, we all know that this body is temporal. It is ours for a finite time. But is is also a precious gift.  That's why it is called the Body Temple.  It is sacred in that it houses our Soul while we are here. As the book God I Am declares, “There were billions of other Souls around the Universe vying for the ‘ticket to ride’ that was given to you!”  That's right, YOU are that Unique and Special.  Everyone here already won the lottery!  So while you are here, be grounded enough to care for the body which brought ya!


2.  DEVELOP A MIND-SET FOR SUCCESS
The foundation for your future happiness and blissful abundance in all its forms stems from having a mind-set for success.  Nothing of value happens overnight. So our mind-sets must be implemented for both the short and long term. The key to developing a Super Heroic Mind Set lies in shedding thoughts or feelings of self doubt, worthlessness, fear, anxiety, or the lack of self love. This means transcending any limiting beliefs about what is possible for you to create in your life. And feeding your SUBCONSCIOUS mind with expanded thinking that you are truly LIMITLESS! The sky is NOT your limit, but rather just the beginning! 

And please re-member that we have two minds. Both the conscious and the SUBCONSCIOUS. The conscious mind controls and intreprets our illusionary physical senses. It's master is the EGO! Its primary function is to keep us feeling small and less than. It creates the thoughts that keep us feeling separated from the ONE GOD MIND that is the loving source to Infinite Intelligence and our true essence.

The SUBCONSCIOUS mind is subordinate to you! It is the mind of your SOUL and works beyond time and space! It's the powerhouse of your Super Heroic Higher Self. And it is 1,000 times more powerful than our conscious mind. It is non verbal in nature. And responds only to our thoughts and emotions. Its arch nemesis is RESISTANCE! Meaning any thoughts, beliefs, or feelings of being less than the utterly perfect being that is your very spiritual essence. Those energetic offerings block any abundance from entering into your life experience. So it is our e-motions (energy in motion) and feelings that turbo charge the  vibration (frequency) of our SUBCONSCIOUS mind. Which in turn transforms our core thoughts and beliefs into their physical equivalent. Essentially, you can "Bend Reality" into nearly anything your imagination can fathom. If you can convince your SUBCONSCIOUS mind to see it and believe it is already in your possession, its very nature is to create and deliver it into your life experience! Sometimes it will come in the form of the action steps and plans in order to "collect" it. Other times, it will appear in pure tangible form. So the next time you receive an intuitive hit for an action step, act fast! It is the SUBCONSCIOUS mind, through the power of spiritual intuition, sending you this information to put into action, pronto!


3. Create a Consistent Morning Routine
If you wish to see "Big Changes" in your life, you must be willing to change things in a BIG WAY. My very first suggestion is to make your bed the moment you wake up. It's been scientifically proven that the "state of your bed" is the state of your head! 

I develop individually tailored morning routines for all of my coaching clients. Most of our morning routines are engulfed in stress, anxiety, and non present behaviors that do not set you up for a day filled with success!  Just the opposite actually. The first key to an empowering morning routine is to start the day doing things that life your SPIRIT. Listening  to inspiration music, or podcasts as an example.  Or perhaps taking ten or fifteen minutes to read from an inspiring book or blog (Hint, Hint)  LOL

My second suggestion is to incorporate daily morning affirmations into your routine. The Secret Sauce to daily affirmations is to say them in the present tense. And super charge them through your emotions. As though they are already happening in the NOW! 

Next, declare what you commit to BEING in the day to come. As an example, here is a list of my personal Morning Intentions:

TODAY I INTEND TO BE:

Filled with gratitude
Alive with Ferocity in all that I do
Radiating BLISS for myself and all others
Living as LOVE
Boundless with Compassion and Kindness
Steadfast in the KNOWINGNESS that through my MAGIC
Extraordinary Things will be made manifest 
In Alignment and in Allowance of all things That 
Serve the Highest Good of all concerned

Another wonderful Morning Mindset habit is to read aloud your "Pillars of Super Success." There are Six Pillars that will generally make up the foundation for lasting BLISS in your life. They are the following:

Your Calling
Financial Abundance
Your Health
Personal Relationships
Physical Appearance
Source of Income

I highly suggest you write these pillars down and develop each of them in written form.
Again, here are mine for reference points:

CALLING:
Using the Transformational Guidance through my brands under MARTINEZ CONSCIOUS MEDIA, I am assisting millions to uncover their hidden Super Heroic Higher Self. Thus unleashing their unique set of Super Powers into the world. Creating BLISS in all areas of their life as they find and fulfill their personal CALLING.  The byproduct being helping to change/save this world!

FINANCIAL ABUNDANCE:
An unlimited stream of abundant wealth is flooding into my daily experience.
Allowing me the freedom to live life on my terms. And have the discretionary income 
to give financial well being back those who need it.

HEALTH:
I am experiencing pain free living from a mental, physical, and spiritual standpoint.
My body stays dis-ease free forevermore.

RELATIONSHIPS:
A new Tribe of spiritually like minded, caring, supportive, authentic, and fun loving friendships and personal relationships are always a part of my sacred circle.

APPEARANCE:
My physical body is always becoming a grander version of itself.  That together with a joy filled heart keeps me with a youthful appearance. 

SOURCE OF INCOME:
Through MARTINEZ CONSCIOUS MEDIA, massive financial abundance floods into my life. In return, I pledge daily loving service to others through Coaching/Teaching/Blogging/Podcasting/Books/and Speaking

My last suggestion is to develop a daily morning visioning routine. Take just ten minutes every morning to do visioning exercises in which you close your eyes in a quiet environment. Then put your imagination to use. And do not put any limits on what you allow yourself to imagine in your mind's eye. Actually paint a mental picture of what your  Super Heroic Ideal Life would look like. But make sure to actually SEE YOURSELF in the mental picture. Smell, feel, see, and taste the picture as though it was literally already right in front of you. And then super charge the picture through the use of your e-motions. And please do not be afraid to let your freak flag fly during this process. For as I stated earlier, the SUBCONSCIOUS mind cannot determine between what is real and what is imagined. So the greater the e-motion you put behind this vision, the faster the SUBCONSCIOUS mind will get to work to make it become manifest in physical form!!

Then, after the ten minute time period, open your eyes and "pull that e-motion" out of your visioning process. And try and hold that energetic vibration the rest of your day. Don't be surprised how quickly the very thing you envisioned, or the plans to manifest it come flooding into your experience! Trust the process.  I can attest that it really works! Promise!  ;0)

4.  Start to delegate as many of your tasks as possible.
Time is the one thing that you cannot get back in this realm. So make sure you free up every possible minute when possible!


5.  Take decisive and immediate action.
So listen up you procrastinators.  The uber successful know that constant action changes things dramatically!  And I suggest you learn this as well......  ;0)

6.   Focus on being productive, not being just busy.

In his book, The 4-Hour Workweek, Tim Ferris says, “Slow down and remember this: Most things make no difference. Being busy is often a form of mental laziness – lazy thinking and indiscriminate action.” This is Ferris’ way of saying “work smarter, not harder,” which happens to be one of the most prevalent modern day personal development clichés. But like most clichés, there’s a great deal of truth to it, and few people actually adhere to it. Just take a quick look around. The busy outnumber the productive by a wide margin.        

7. Seek progress and not perfection
Seeking perfection will only cause you to freeze in your new "Nike Kicks." Seek progress instead of perfection. It will always serve your Highest Good!                                                          

8.  Work out of your comfort zone as often as possible!                                                  
Do at least one thing every week that truly scares you. Life begins at the end of your comfort zone. Trust me!

9.  Learn from your missteps.  
Many of us are handicapped from taking action steps because we are paralyzed from fearing thoughts that we may make a mistake and feel judged or embarrassed by our actions. Not to mention the albatross of pondering what others may think of us as a byproduct.  Sound familiar?!?  That's why I invite you to transcend your MISTAKES into MISSTEPS.  The decisions we make stem from our mind, our hearts, or both!  Everyone makes choices based on their past experiences, their belief systems, and their own personal values.  Re-member, we always choose what we believe is the best possible choice in any given situation.  The key is to direct our energy away from self judgment and back towards empowering declarations such as "What is the lesson?  How can I use this experience for my greater good?" And perhaps most importantly, what is the Universe trying to teach me in this moment of NOW?"  As Richard Bach said, "The events we bring upon ourselves and the manner in which we tackle them are necessary for us to learn.  Whatever steps we take, they are necessary to reach the places we've chosen to go." And as the great Joseph Campbell often espoused, "When ANY experience enters your personal experience, bless it! For it is EXACTLY what you need in that moment!"  Let that last sentence settle into your consciousness.  For I promise you that it will serve your highest good throughout your life experience!                      

10.  Start hanging out with people who support and inspire you and your dreams.  
It has been scientifically proven that you will be the exact aggregate of the five people who you spend the most time with. And that goes for every area of your life. So the one thing we have the most control over  is who we choose to keep in our inner circle. Based on that fact, I suggest you choose very wisely!

I believe this is a wonderful list of very easily implementable action steps we can all put into place in our daily routines!  I would love to hear your thoughts on other habits you have BE found to be productive in your own life!

MODERN MYTH MESSAGES: Interstellar....!

In the mid 21st century, planet Earth has become a barren dustbowl at the hands of Climate Disruption. Most of the planet's inhabitants are starting to perish from a lack of food and water. So when Joseph Cooper (a former NASA astronaut-now a farmer) is given the chance to pilot a small crew of scientists into hyperspace in an attempt to find an habitable planet, he leaves his family behind and accepts this last ditch effort to save all of mankind. The mission goes awry and the crew has to make a prescient choice. The spaceship only has enough fuel to try and reach one of two remaining options of a potential replacement for life on planet Earth. The team has a heartfelt discussion in order to make the decision on which planet they will try and investigate.




COOPER: You once said that Dr. Mann (one of the astronauts who volunteered years earlier to pilot a spaceship toward one of the many planets thought to be habitable for human life) was the best of us.

DR. BRAND: He is remarkable. We are only here because of him.

COOPER: And yet here he is. He is on the ground and sending us a very unambiguous message telling
us to come to his planet.

DR. BRAND:  Granted. (BEAT) But Edmunds' (the other volunteer astronaut, now transmitting possible data that the foreign planet where he resides would be very suitable for new life) data is more promising.

DR. ROMILLY: We should vote.

COOPER: (looking at Dr. Romilly) Well, if we are going to vote, there is something you should know. Brand, he has a right to know.

DR. BRAND: (Softly) That has nothing to do with it.

DR. ROMILLY: What does?

COOPER: She is in love with Wolf Edmunds.

DR. ROMILLY:  Is that true?

DR. BRAND: Yes. And, that makes me want to follow my heart. But maybe we've spent too long trying to figure this all out with theory.

COOPER: You're a scientist Brand.

DR. BRAND: So listen to me. When I say that love isn't something we invented. It's (BEAT) observable. Powerful. It has to mean something.

COOPER: Love has meaning, yes. But so does social utility, social bonding, child rearing.

DR. BRAND: I love people who have died. Where is the social utility in that?

COOPER: None.

DR. BRAND: Maybe it means something more. Something that we can't yet understand. Maybe it's some evidence, some artifact of a higher dimension that we can't consciously perceive. I'm drawn across the Universe to someone I haven't seen in a decade. Who I know is probably dead. Love is the one thing that we are capable of perceiving that transcends time and space. Maybe we should trust that even if we can't understand it yet.

LOVE! The majestic powerhouse of Universal energy that governs the entire cosmos. Love is the very essence of who and what we will always be. It makes up the entirety of our spiritual DNA. It's what we live for. And what so many of us are willing to die for. Love fills our individual life experiences with a sense of miracles and magic! Some go so far as to say that "Love is blind." I say True Love is the only thing that allows us to perceive people, places, and things for what they truly are. Which is No Thing short of utter perfection! 

Without Love, life would be barren and beyond brutal. For it is the only elemental energy in the entire Universe that has the ability to bridge gaps of disconnection, heal the broken and battered, forgive ourSELVES and all others, soothe aching hearts, excite our minds and SOULS toward new heights of bliss, motivate us to create works of poetic elegance, shine brightness wherever darkness has become a dis-ease, and to accomplish the "One Unifying Purpose" that bonds us all. To extend to others daily forms of caring, heartfelt, and compassionate service! For LOVE's greatest gift is helping us re-member that WE ARE ALL ONE!! Thus what we do for others, we do for ourSELVES.  And conversely, what we do for ourSELVES, we do for all others. For that is the true definition of being a SUPERHERO! 

When looked at through the lens of Love, everything becomes a Miracle! For the definition of a Miracle is to change your perspective from Fear to Love. Because anytime that shift occurs, you leave the egoic mind for more transcendent pastures as you once again commune with your Super Heroic Higher Self.  Which is pure LOVE wrapped in the stardust skin which holds its precious place as you experience life in this dimension. 

Ask not who can be Love. For anything that is NOT Love is simply an illusion. And re-member to never confuse hate as being the opposite of Love. Hate is simply Love standing upside down. And this world has way too many of its inhabitants standing on their heads searching for a Love they will never find.  LOL And the remedy is as simple as this: stop chasing Love, and start spreading it! Always "Be The Source" of that which you seek. For in doing so, that which you seek, will come running back into your outstretched arms! I PROMISE!!

Your job is NOT to seek Love, but rather to discover all the barriers you have built up against it entering into your experience. Big difference, wouldn't you say?! ;0) For we are all here to Love one another back into true BEINGNESS! Being kind, caring, present, creative, compassionate, thoughtful, and of humble service. The byproduct of which is activating and unleashing the unique person of pure perfection that is our True Essence.

For as the great Albert Einstein wrote to his daughter Lieserl, 

"Love is Light, that enlightens those who give and receive it. Love is gravity, because it makes some people feel attracted to others. 

Love is power, because it multiplies the best we have, and allows humanity not to be extinguished in their blind selfishness. Love unfolds and reveals.

For love we live and die.
Love is God and God is Love.

This force explains everything and gives meaning to life. This is the variable that we have ignored for too long, maybe because we are afraid of love because it is the only energy in the universe that man has not learned to drive at will.

To give visibility to love, I made a simple substitution in my most famous equation.
If instead of E = mc2, we accept that the energy to heal the world can be obtained through love multiplied by the speed of light squared, we arrive at the conclusion that love is the most powerful force there is, because it has no limits.

After the failure of humanity in the use and control of the other forces of the universe that have turned against us, it is urgent that we nourish ourselves with another kind of energy…

If we want our species to survive, if we are to find meaning in life, if we want to save the world and every sentient being that inhabits it, love is the one and only answer."

Just as Dr. Brand was vulnerable enough to express in Interstellar, rather than scientific theory, perhaps the only answer to our planet's ultimate survival is by expressing the most explosive force in the Universe, unadulterated LOVE!

ASK And It's ALWAYS Given...!

TODAY'S MYTHOLOGICAL INSPIRATIONAL MAGIC

There once lived a little girl who absolutely adored cats.  She loved the way they felt and how strong and independent they seemed in her precious eyes.  She had asked her parents if she could have a cat of her own for what seemed like an eternity.  And yet her parents reply never wavered.  They always answered her request with a stern NO!

And so one night, before lying down for bed, this little girl got down on her knees and said a special prayer to God.  “God, I have something to ask of you.  I don't have many friends in my neighborhood and sometimes I get very lonely.  I was wondering if you could somehow send me a cat of my very own.  I promise that if you do, I will always love and take care of it with all of my heart.  Thank you for listening to me God.  I BELIEVE in you and know you answer all prayers in your own special way!"

The very next day, three streets away from where this special little girl lived, a kind woman was washing her dishes when she looked up at the Gi-normous tree that stood in her from yard.  She saw a cat that was desperately trying to climb down the tree but had become stuck amongst many of its thick branches.

She could see the poor cat was absolutely terrified as it cried out for help.  This woman was an enormous lover of animals and immediately stopped what she was doing and went outside to see how she might be able to assist the cat in getting down from the tree.

But as soon as she approached the tree, her heart sank.  The cat was way too high for her to do much of anything to help.  Just then, a man who had decided to take a walk in that day's cool, crisp air came upon the woman staring up into the heights of this hulking tree with a heavy heart.

Being the good samaritan, he promptly stopped and  asked the woman if every thing was OK.  She preceded to tell him about the scared cat that was stuck up in the tree right before them.  Also a lover of animals, he decided to try and help this petrified animal.

So he began to climb up the tree toward the cat.  At first, he made quick progress making his way almost halfway up the tree.  But then the branches began to become too thick for him to continue his Journey.

After stopping to think for several moments, he decided to make one last attempt to rescue this cat from its bondage.  Against his better judgement, he leapt with all his might just high enough to grab ahold of the very branch which the cat was clawing too.  But just as soon as he attempted to pull himself up onto the branch to grab the cat, the branch began to harshly bend back and the man lost his grip.  As soon as he did, this elastic branch flung out of the man's clutches and the force sent the cat flying through the air!!

At that very moment, the lonely little girl who had sent a very special request to God the night before was playing in her backyard.  She suddenly heard a shrieking sound and as she looked up in the sky, that very cat came flying directly into her arms.

Absolutely filled with utter delight,  she hugged the cat close to her heart.  She then looked up to the Heavens above and Thanked God for answering her prayers!

So the next time you pray to God, ALWAYS Re-member that as you Ask, So it shall be given!!

When I was just starting out living through my teenage years, I had a small group of friends that all lived in my community and it was perhaps the first time I understood the importance of having a tribe.  Looking back in retrospect, it's quite amazing how many powerful spiritual lessons were engrained within me during this often awkward and precarious time of life. Events that were perhaps the initial birthing place of my passion for self growth and transformation. Fond memories that have now become stories I still share with myself and others that have lasting life lessons.

Growing up on the East Coast, the winter snow was always a welcomed relief from the daily stress of school.  And since both of my parents were teachers, we were the first to get phoned the night before of school closings the next day.  SNOW DAYS were the ‘Holy Grail’ of childhood blessings and brought with them an unending opportunity for fun and freedom.  Our group was perhaps the first incarnation of TV's current ‘BIG BANG THEORY’.  We were, for the most part, a cadre of nerds who shared our intense passions for video games, movies, mythology, and especially board games.

We were all competitive as hell and took losing relatively tough.  Then again we were still pups in the relative scope of our emotional development.  And on one particular snowy afternoon those many years ago, we all got together for an afternoon of winner takes all MONOPOLY!  Little did I realize then, what a powerful metaphor for life was about to be displayed during that day's battle royal with the dice..........

One friend in our group we referred to as ‘Alex P. Keaton’,  after the character Michael J. Fox perfected on the TV show  ‘FAMILY TIES.’  Like the character Alex, he was obsessed with Wall Street, money, was small in nature, and had a relatively sharp temper.  All games played with him were intense, but he played Monopoly with a fervor that was unmatched by anyone else I had ever met.  He was wickedly smart and he certainly won his fair share of games.  But not on this day!

An hour or so into the game, I found myself on a Vegas worthy lucky streak and started collecting  houses and hotels all around the Monopoly board!  As I looked around the table, I noticed ‘Alex’ was just about out of money.  One more unlucky roll of the dice, causing him to land on one of my stockpiled board spaces, and he was done!  And he knew it.  His brows began to furrow and his lips were parsed.  I handed him the dice which he grabbed from my hands in obvious disgust.  He shook the dice for an unusually long time and then threw them down across the board.  He counted out the steps with his game piece and landed right SMACK in the middle of the Boardwalk space I owned.........

In what seemed like an instant, he grabbed the board game from each side, and flipped it high into the air. Sending pieces of plastic and fake paper money flying all over the room in what felt like perpetually slow motion!  Not to mention ruining the game for the those of us who were still participating. The group sat in awkward silence for what felt like an eternity.  Unfortunately, the game was obviously over and the rest of us began collecting the various game pieces that had been flung in every other direction with ‘Alex's’ display of utter dismay.

Of course we were furious, but at that point in our lives, we were not comfortable with heated confrontations, so not much was said until days later. And looking back, I'm glad I handled the situation in the manner that I did. Because whether we knew it or not at the time, ‘Alex’ had just taught us a Gi-normous life lesson that I still share to this day. Rather than simply playing the game for the joy, laughter, and fun it can provide, he allowed the ILLUSION of the game to become HIS REALITY.

Admittedly, this tremendously powerful metaphor didn't solidify itself for me until many years later. But do you see how we all do this very same thing in our own lives. We allow the ILLUSION of this world to become our REALITY.   Just as ‘Alex’ did!  And when we do, we become disconnected from SPIRIT and the calling we came here to accomplish.  And that's very often when depression, anxiety, loneliness, and separation from SOURCE sits in and stays for a while.  Or unfortunately for some, never leaves.

We live in a Matrix of energy that was designed as a creative space for our souls to experience the Greatest Version of the Grandest Vision we have ever held of ourselves.  So much of what we see and experience is an ILLUSION to give us the very opportunities we desire to feel.  I know it can seem SO completely real at times, and it was set up that way. How else could we have such transcendent experiences unless the GAME we were playing felt so tangibly realistic. I like to believe that the masters on this planet have slowly learned to “tip their toe” in the universal life-force that surrounds us. Just enough to enjoy the game and experience it for what it was meant to be, but never “jumping in” completely, thus allowing the ILLUSION to become their REALITY.

As Eckert Tolle says in ‘A New Earth’, “ All we can perceive, experience, think about, is the surface layer of reality.  Less than the tip of an iceberg.  Underneath the surface appearance, everything is not only connected to everything else, but also with the SOURCE of all life from which it came.”  Essentially we are all ONE.  The illusion is that we are all separate.  But we could not have all the juicy, delectable experiences we desire, if we did not have the illusion of separation.

My intention for you today, is to Re-member this story the next time you feel yourself allowing the ILLUSION of life to become your REALITY.  And even better than that, share this Re-membrance with others who may have lost their way.   We all do at some point.  That's why, as they say, “It takes a Village!”

Happy Tuesday My Fellow New Age Nerds!  For so many of us, the start of a new week can be filled with anxiety, disconnection, and the fear ridden anticipation of the daily engagements to come.  In full support for the Re-membrance of WHO YOU TRULY ARE, so that you can face the week with a renewed sense of positive PURPOSE and the Divine magical acts of co-creation, I wanted to share the following passage with you all!  May it gently bring the KNOWINGNESS that there is No Thing about you that is less than a soulful emanation of perfected LOVE from the SOURCE of Infinite Intelligence that connects us all.  May this understanding ease your worries, doubts, and pain about any and all of the current predicaments within your experience.

Earth ANGELS Are EVERYWHERE....!

Over the past several years, about once every four months, I am payed a visit by a gentile, incredibly soft spoken young man who always shows up to the doorstep of my humble home impeccable dressed.  Nice fitting dark suit, clean, crisp dress shoes and not a speck of hair out of place.  Slender and rather tall, he seems to show up exactly when I am in a trough of life's invariable patches of ups and downs.  In fact without fail, he has never shown up when I have not recently been in some sort of personal hardship.  And these meetings are pure happenstance mind you.  They are not pre-planned in any way shape or form.  He just shows up on my doorstep willing to patiently listen to my latest life challenge and bend a caring ear toward compassionate care.  In fact, it isn't until the end of our conversations over the years that he usually invites me to one of his church's (he is Jehovah Witness) upcoming events.  But he does so with such grace and endearing kindness that it feels nothing like a sales pitch and more like a helping hand reaching out to extend whatever type of care and compassion   he can offer!

In all the time he has spent with me, he had NEVER once taken time out of our precious meetings to disclose any information about himself or what he was going through in his life.  He keeps all our co-created attention on me and my life situations!  REMARKABLE!!

So this Sunday, when I was having a very hard time with some familial triggering issues, he showed up out of the blue like clockwork.  We figured it had been over 6 months since we had spoken, yet he suddenly appeared right when I could use an ear to bend!  But this time, at the end of our conversation, things took a different turn.  I actually turned the tables on this Earth Angel and asked how life had been treating him lately.  He offered a sly grin and simply uttered the word "CHALLENGING!" 

I told him that in all the years he had been coming here, he had always kept business towards what was going on in my life; usurping his needs and challenges in the process.  But this time I wasn't going to let him of the hook.  I grabbed him by the forearm and asked, “May I ask what challenges you are facing in YOUR life?”   He hesitantly looked at the ground and then looked up to give me a nod of yes!

He preceded to tell me he had been out of work the past six months, as the paint shop he had worked with his uncle was forced to close. And he had been searching for work ever since. He informed me of the financial problems the job loss had cost him and his family.  They were barely able to scrape by. And yet, he volunteered for his church EVERY single Saturday and Sunday all day to spread the word of SPIRIT!  And he did so with a blazing blast of bliss and a smile that could light up the dimmest of hearts!  

So I asked him how he was able to spread the word of the Gospel when his own life seemed to be in such lack and turmoil?!  He slowly opened the bible and read me a passage containing the story of "to everything there is a season."  And as he read me the entire short passage, his eyes were filled with such a passionate ebullience and fervent excitement that it was absolutely infectious. He said that God has promised us that just as the birds do not wake up and worry about how they are going to eat or acquire food, neither shall anyone worry about their own abundance.  Including me and him!  

He continued with his teaching by telling me that just as there is a time for every season, it is for a reason.  That each season, no matter how challenging it may appear, brings with it the opportunity for growth, faith, compassion, service, and prosperity.  The challenge is that some of the seasons are quite arduous, to say the least.  And this causes us to want to speed through them to get to the next. But by doing this, we miss out on the gifts each season is there to deliver upon to us in perfect timing time.  If we just remain patient!  

“Just as God has promised all his creatures the promise of abundance, he has done the same thing for all of his children.  There is no need to fraught with despair when things are not going as planned.  As the old saying goes, If you really want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans.”

And to me, one of the grandest definitions of a Hero is to be able to comfort someone else even when your own plate of despair is utterly full!  And he has been a powerful example of that type of BEINGNESS to me the last few years.  

Sometimes being a hero just means lending an ear and letting someone else know that you care enough to truly listen to THEM and THEIR temporary problems.  Or to spread the word of SPIRIT despite what is showing up in your own life.  That takes real Faith, a ton of Courage, and even more Moxy!!  So I ask you today, do you have what it takes to be a Super Hero for someone in your life who could use just that type of assistance in their time of need?!  And if your answer is a resounding NO, Re-member, you are NEVER alone.  Spirit is there to help guide you with the exact words and timing you will need to assist both yourSELF and your fellow brothers and sisters in need.  I PROMISE you that!!
