Last night I had all intentions of taking a much needed break to get caught up on season 6 of ‘The Game of Thrones‘. But as I turned on the TV, there was a 20/20 special on ABC about the shooting massacre in Dallas that transfixed my attention for its entire hour. While watching this show unfold, my emotions were spiraling out of control. Anger, fear, frustration, and even some feelings of personal resonation from police abuse I have had to endure as a Mexican American myself. While the transgressions I have faced pare in comparison to what is currently unfolding almost daily on our tv screens, I HAVE been put in jail twice and been wrongly accused of traffic offenses on too many occasions that I care to share. I can only IMAGINE what the typical African American must feel, especially in urban cities, simply taking a walk or going for a bike ride in their neighborhood.
But it was one specific section of this program that especially touched and triggered a raw nerve deep within my spiritual core. Apparently, there is a new PHENOMENON that is increasing in usage across the African American community. It is simply called “THE TALK”. There were several interviews with parents of young black boys and girls who have been forced to sit their precious children down and explain to them the way they are to behave if they ever see a police officer near their vicinity. DID YOU REALLY HEAR WHAT I JUST TYPED?!?! I was absolutely horrified and ashamed. The very people who promise to SERVE and PROTECT our country's citizens and whose paychecks are paid for by OUR tax dollars, have become agents of FEAR and ANGST to way too many of our innocent, loving, and now petrified fellow Americans.
Now I DO NOT care to put a label on ALL police officers, that would be completely unfair and NOT justified. I know the majority of them are courageous, hard working, true HEROES who leave every morning for work not knowing if they will be coming home. Just like the five Dallas officers two days ago. And my heart absolutely aches for these fallen soldiers and the families they left behind.
But I found it challenging to sleep last night as the replay of these parents having to have “THE TALK” with their children continued to consume my mind. And then Spirit intervened within my consciousness and I was enlightened to the reframing of this idea. WE DO NEED TO HAVE A TALK. ALL OF US. And it CANNOT wait any longer. This is not all about the egregious acts of police officers. It is more about our desperate need to awaken ourselves to the DIVINE consciousness that resides within us all!
So THE TALK I am referring to is about ways we can assist one another to awaken to the Re-membrance of the ONLY reason we are here, sharing this amazing planet. And that is ..... LOVE.
We have been asleep for far too long. The illusion has become our reality. We are not separate from one another. We are ONE! You, me, him , her, them, us. ALL ONE! Black, latin, asian, white. ONE!! Gay, straight, lesbian, transgender. STILL ALL ONE!
Too many of us are living in poverty when the truth is, that if the top 2% of this world's richest individuals gave just 10% of their net worth away, there would NEVER be another person who goes to bed hungry ever again. There is no reason for the state and condition that this world is currently in. NONE. We have all the resources and abundance to take care of everyone on the planet. Yet did you know that 30% of this planet has NO IDEA how they are going to get food or water on a daily basis!! Sickening.........
Too many of us live in a bubble. Our inner monologue being “What can I do to change things?” and then simply go on with our day. Well I have come up with a list of things that we can ALL do to assist others in Re-memering Who They Truly Are. And that is unique and perfect emanations of Godliness and Divine Source and Spirit. Utter perfection! Beautiful and magnificent in the most individual of ways!
So here are some suggestions from the New Age Nerd Manifesto of how we can begin to truly become the HEROES for ourselves and one another that this world so desperately needs. And pronto!
A New Age Nerd knows we are all Spiritual beings having a Human experience.
He acknowledges the true power of his words, and thus chooses them with care, intention, and kindness. And shares loving compliments of acknowledgement with abundant grace.
A New Age Nerd strives to ‘practice what they preach’, for they know that a spiritual vocabulary without action becomes No Thing more than Spiritual Entertainment.
She has the deep understanding that Energy is finite, so she does not waste hers on things she cannot control.
He knows separation is an illusion.. and that WE ARE ALL ONE.
A New Age Nerd does not confuse kindness... With weakness EVER!
He understands that every soul has a purpose.. And makes it his mission to Rock This World on his Hero's Journey. And help others Re-member what their purpose is!
She accepts that the one thing she has full control over is who she associates with .. As it will be the greatest determining factor of her happiness and success. So she picks her TRIBE with a WICKED WISDOM.
The opinions of others have little effect on a New Age Nerd, for they know they only have to PROVE things to themselves.
A New Age Nerd understands the difference between Success and SIGNIFICANCE. So they are always looking to bring more value into the world.
He believes the greatest gift we have been given is the PRESENT.
So his favorite motto is BE HERE NOW.
She is a ‘SOULdier’ for LOVE. A fierce Connoisseur of Consciousness. A Ravishing Rock Star of Spirit. And a Steward of Remembrance. So she reminds others that they are too.
A New Age Nerd understands that they may be the only bible/torah/koran that someone will ever read. Thus they hold each and every Co-creation as SACRED. And treat one another with respect , acknowledgment and kindness, always and in ALL WAYS.
He strives to be worthy of his sufferings. For his definition of a ‘Sin’ is to suffer without meaning.

She takes RESPONSIBILITY for her actions. No complaining, no explaining.
A New Age Nerd commits daily to become ‘The Greatest Version of The Grandest Vision’ ever held of themselves. In this way, they worry not about being better than others, but rather BEING better than they used to be.
She knows surrendering is the highest form of ALLOWANCE. So she surrenders her Spirit to the Universe often, as not to block the Abundance always waiting for her highest good.
A New Age Nerd has a fervent FAITH that everything and anything other than LOVE, is simply an ILLUSION.
